I undertake an extensive and wide range of restorative work in my shop.
My main aim here is to be as non invasive and respectful to the instrument as possible. Most common requests by customers range from minor sound post adjustments to complete set-ups of the instrument. This can include re-shooting finger boards, fitting peg, sound post and good quality bridges.
Repair work will be taken on and again can vary from small ff-hole wing cracks to more extensive and elaborate plate and rib restorations, including reconstruction of old instruments. Musicians should consider though that the instrument can be out of commission for a longer period of time and should remember this when scheduling an appointment.
These types of work will be carried out on violin, viola and cello.
Bows:
I do re-hairs and other work on bows for violin, viola and cello.
