About

Born in Germany, Kuros Torkzadeh moved to Ireland in 1994. A Classically trained and
enthusiastic musician, he has been crafting and making instruments for over 20 years. Kuros
studied at the Newark School of Violin Making where he obtained a Diploma and the
certificate of city and guilds.
Now based in Bray Co. Wicklow, he operates a workshop, Kuros Violins, specialising in
making violins, violas and celli as well as fine restoration and repair.
In his craft, using outlines, shapes and proportions of the classical originals as an inspiration,
Kuros aspires to create unique pieces that are distinct and individual in character.
All instruments are produced using personally chosen and matched woods of the finest
quality. They are then crafted carefully and precisely in a traditional fashion to create a body
with a warm, responsive sound and comfortable playability.
